01 "An Act relating to fees for a commercial fishing vessel license."                                                      
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1.  INTENT.  It is the intent of the legislature that the revenue generated by this                        
04 Act be appropriated to the Department of Fish and Game for the management, rehabilitation,                              
05 enhancement, development, and scientific study of the commercial fishery resources of the                               
06 state.                                                                                                                  
07    * Sec. 2.  AS 16.05.530(a) is amended to read:                                                                       
08  (a)  Upon payment of the one-year or two-year [A] license fee [OF $20 FOR                                           
09 ONE YEAR OR $40 FOR TWO YEARS AT THE OPTION OF THE OWNER,] and                                                          
10 filing of the name and address of the owner of the vessel or the owner's authorized                                     
11 agent, the name and number of the vessel, a description of the vessel, vessel license                                   
12 number, if any, the area to be fished, and other reasonable information required by the                                 
13 Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission, the commission shall issue a number plate                                        
14 and a vessel license.  If the vessel has a number plate, the commission shall issue a                                   

01 vessel license and tab designating the year or years the license is valid.  The tab shall                               
02 be placed in the space provided on the permanent number plate. The license fee for                                     
03 two years is twice the annual license fee.  The annual license fee is set according                                     
04 to the overall length, as defined by the United States Coast Guard, of the vessel                                       
05 under the following schedule:                                                                                           
06   (1)  0 - 25 feet . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $20

12    * Sec. 3.  APPLICABILITY.  The vessel license fees established under this Act are                                    
13 applicable to vessel licenses for 1995 and subsequent years that are issued after the effective                         
14 date of this Act.
