01 "An Act relating to failure to report harm or assaults of the elderly or                                                
02 disabled."                                                                                                              
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 08.01 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                   
05  Sec. 08.01.088. CONVICTION AS GROUNDS FOR DISCIPLINARY                                                                
06 ACTION.  Notwithstanding any other provision of this title, the conviction under                                        
07 AS 47.24.010 or 47.24.110 of a person licensed, certified, or regulated by the                                          
08 department or a board under this title may be considered by the department or board                                     
09 as grounds for disciplinary proceedings or sanctions.                                                                   
10    * Sec. 2.  AS 47.24.010(c) is amended to read:                                                                       
11  (c)  A person who knowingly fails to comply with this section is guilty of a                                        
12 class B misdemeanor.  If a person convicted under this section is a member of a                                        
13 profession or occupation that is licensed, certified, or regulated by the state, the                                    
14 court shall notify the appropriate licensing, certifying, or regulating entity of the                                   

01 conviction [VIOLATION AS DEFINED IN AS 11.81.900(b)].                                                                  
02    * Sec. 3.  AS 47.24.110(b) is amended to read:                                                                       
03  (b)  A person who knowingly fails or refuses to make a report required under                                          
04 (a) of this section is guilty of a class B misdemeanor.  If a person convicted under                                   
05 this section is a member of a profession or occupation that is licensed, certified,                                     
06 or regulated by the state, the court shall notify the appropriate licensing,                                            
07 certifying, or regulating entity of the conviction.
