01 "An Act relating to the definition of 'person'; and providing for an effective date."                                   
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 01.10.060(a)(8) is amended to read:                                                              
04 (8)  "person" includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm,                                                       
05 association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person;                                     
06 "person" does not include environmental elements, artificial intelligence,                                          
07       nonhuman animals, or inanimate objects;                                                                       
08    * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect July 1, 2024.
