01 "An Act relating to the definition of 'victim.'"                                                                        
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 12.55.185(19) is amended to read:                                                                  
04                 (19)  "victim" means                                                                                    
05                      (A)  a person against whom an offense has been perpetrated;                                        
06                      (B)  one of the following, not the perpetrator, if the person                                      
07            specified in (A) of this paragraph is a minor, incompetent, or incapacitated:                                
08                           (i)  an individual living in a spousal relationship with the                                  
09                 person specified in (A) of this paragraph; or                                                           
10                           (ii)  a parent, adult child, guardian, or custodian of the                                    
11                 person;                                                                                                 
12                      (C)  one of the following, not the perpetrator, if the person                                      
13            specified in (A) of this paragraph is dead:                                                                  
14                           (i)  a person living in a spousal relationship with the                                       
15                 deceased before the deceased died;                                                                      
01                           (ii)  a [AN ADULT] child, parent, brother, sister,                                        
02                 grandparent, or grandchild of the deceased; or                                                          
03                           (iii)  any other interested person, as may be designated                                      
04                 by a person having authority in law to do so.
