01 "An Act relating to issuance of subpoenas by committees of the legislature."                                            
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 24.25.010(b) is amended to read:                                                                     
04 (b)  A subpoena requiring the attendance of a witness before a standing or                                              
05 special committee of the legislature may be issued by [THE CHAIRMAN OF] a                                               
06 standing or special committee when authorized to do so by a majority of the                                           
07 membership of the committee [AND WITH THE CONCURRENCE OF THE                                                            
08 PRESIDENT OR THE SPEAKER, OR WITH THE CONCURRENCE OF THE                                                                
09       HOUSE OR THE SENATE].
