01 "An Act relating to the maximum annual awards for Alaska performance scholarships."                                     
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 14.43.825(a) is amended to read:                                                                   
04            (a)  The maximum annual awards for the Alaska performance scholarships are                                   
05       as follows:                                                                                                       
06                 (1)  the first award level is an amount equal to the average annual                                 
07       cost of resident tuition and fees at the University of Alaska [$4,755] and requires a                         
08                      (A)  3.5 grade-point average or above; and                                                         
09                      (B)  very high minimum score on a college entrance                                                 
10            examination;                                                                                                 
11                 (2)  the second award level is an amount equal to 75 percent of the                                 
12       average annual cost of resident tuition and fees at the University of Alaska                                  
13       [$3,566] and requires a                                                                                           
14                      (A)  3.0 grade-point average or above; and                                                         
15                      (B)  high minimum score on a college entrance examination;                                         
01                 (3)  the third award level is an amount equal to 50 percent of the                                  
02       average annual cost of resident tuition and fees at the University of Alaska                                  
03       [$2,378] and requires a                                                                                           
04                      (A)  2.5 grade-point average or above; and                                                         
05                      (B)  moderately high minimum score on a college entrance                                           
06            examination.
