00 SENATE BILL NO. 38 01 "An Act making supplemental appropriations for fire suppression activities and 02 restoration projects relating to earthquake disaster relief; capitalizing funds; and 03 providing for an effective date." 04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05  * Section 1. DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES. The sum of $7,900,000 is 06 appropriated from the general fund to the Department of Natural Resources, fire suppression, 07 land and water resources for fire suppression activities during the fiscal year ending June 30, 08 2019. 09  * Sec. 2. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND PUBLIC FACILITIES. (a) The 10 amount of federal receipts received for federal highway surface transportation disaster repair 11 during the fiscal years ending June 30, 2019, and June 30, 2020, estimated to $65,000,000, is 12 appropriated to the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities. 13 (b) The sum of $6,500,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the Department of 14 Transportation and Public Facilities, to match federal receipts for federal highway surface 01 transportation disaster repair for the fiscal years ending June 30, 2019, and June 30, 2020. 02 (c) The sum of $1,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the Department of 03 Transportation and Public Facilities, for costs related to damage to state facilities caused by 04 the southcentral earthquake not reimbursed by insurance. 05  * Sec. 3. FUND CAPITALIZATION. (a) Section 23(b), ch. 17, SLA 2018, is amended to 06 read: 07 (b) The amount of federal receipts received for disaster relief during the fiscal 08 year ending June 30, 2019, estimated to be $46,002,333 [$9,000,000], is appropriated 09 to the disaster relief fund (AS 26.23.300(a)). 10 (b) The sum of $21,901,715 is appropriated from the general fund to the disaster relief 11 fund (AS 26.23.300(a)). 12  * Sec. 4. LAPSE. The appropriations made in sec. 3 of this Act are for the capitalization of 13 funds and do not lapse. 14  * Sec. 5. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
