01 "An Act providing that an elected or appointed state or municipal official may be                                       
02 recalled on the ground that the public has lost confidence in the official."                                            
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1. AS 15.45.510 is amended to read:                                                                      
05            Sec. 15.45.510. Grounds for recall. The grounds for recall are                                             
06                 (1)  an official's                                                                                  
07                      (A)  lack of fitness; [,]                                                                  
08                      (B) [(2)]  incompetence; [,]                                                               
09                      (C) [(3)]  neglect of duties; [,] or                                                       
10                      (D) [(4)]  corruption; or                                                                  
11                 (2)  loss of public confidence in the official.                                                     
12    * Sec. 2. AS 29.26.250 is amended to read:                                                                         
13            Sec. 29.26.250. Grounds for recall. Grounds for recall are                                                 
14                 (1)  an official's misconduct in office, incompetence, or failure to                                
01       perform prescribed duties; or                                                                                 
02                 (2)  loss of public confidence in the official.
