01 "An Act designating the House of Wickersham as the official residence of the lieutenant                                 
02 governor; making the House of Wickersham available for other uses; and relating to                                      
03 certain per diem claims by the lieutenant governor."                                                                    
04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
05    * Section 1. AS 44.19.020 is amended by adding new subsections to read:                                            
06            (b)  The House of Wickersham in Juneau is designated as the official residence                               
07       of the lieutenant governor. The House of Wickersham shall be                                                      
08                 (1)  used as the living quarters for the lieutenant governor and as a                                   
09       place for the conduct of official and ceremonial duties of the lieutenant governor, and                           
10       shall be available for use by the Alaska Historical Commission established under                                  
11       AS 41.35.300;                                                                                                     
12                 (2)  managed to maintain its historical integrity; and                                                  
13                 (3)  shall be available for public tours and events.                                                    
14            (c)  If the House of Wickersham is not used as the primary residence of the                                  
01       lieutenant governor and the lieutenant governor is in Juneau for state business, the                              
02       lieutenant governor may not claim per diem for the cost of lodging.
