01 "An Act relating to per diem for the legislative branch and prohibiting legislators who                                 
02 reside in the state capital from receiving per diem during sessions; and providing for an                               
03 effective date."                                                                                                        
04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
05    * Section 1. AS 24.10.130(b) is amended to read:                                                                   
06            (b)  Legislators and officers and employees of the legislative branch of                                     
07       government are entitled to a per diem allowance if authorized by the policy adopted                           
08       under (c) of this section, except that a legislator who resides in the state capital                          
09       may not receive a per diem allowance while the legislature is in regular or special                           
10       session.                                                                                                      
11    * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect July 1, 2007.
