01 "An Act relating to immunization for meningitis of postsecondary students residing on                                   
02 campus and directing the Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs to seek                                           
03 additional funding to support tuition waivers and assistance."                                                          
04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
05    * Section. 1.  AS 14.43 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                
06            Sec. 14.43.087.  Supplemental appropriation.  If the adjutant general of the                               
07       Department of Military and Veteran's Affairs determines that there are insufficient                               
08       funds to pay for tuition waivers and assistance for all eligible applicants under                                 
09       AS 14.43.085 and AS 26.05.296, the adjutant general shall request that the legislature                            
10       make a supplemental appropriation to fund the waivers and assistance.                                             
11    * Sec. 2. AS 14.48.165(b) is amended to read:                                                                      
12            (b)  A student attending a postsecondary educational institution who intends                             
13       to reside in campus housing shall sign a document provided by the institution before                      
14       the student's initial period of residence indicating that the student has received                            
01                 (1)  an immunization against meningococcal disease; or                                                  
02                 (2)  the notice described under (a) of this section.
