01 Relating to amending House Resolution 8 pertaining to the House Task Force on Alaska                                    
02 Gaming Policy.

04 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES:                                                                       
05      WHEREAS the Alaska House of Representatives of the Twenty-Fourth Alaska State                                    
06 Legislature adopted House Resolution 8, establishing the House Task Force on Alaska                                     
07 Gaming Policy; and                                                                                                      
08      WHEREAS that resolution required the task force to submit a report with its                                      
09 recommendations and findings by January 1, 2006, and terminated the task force on                                       
10 January 30, 2006; and                                                                                                   
11      WHEREAS the task force has been meeting and taking testimony, and preparing its                                  
12 recommendations and findings, but has not completed its work and has not filed its                                      
13 recommendations and findings as required by House Resolution 8 and will not be able to                                  
14 complete its work or file its recommendations and findings before the task force is terminated                          
15 as provided by House Resolution 8; and                                                                                  
16      WHEREAS the task force has requested that it be permitted to file its                                            
01 recommendations and findings by March 31, 2006, and that the task force be terminated on                                
02 April 30, 2006;                                                                                                         
03      BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives that House Resolution 8 is                                        
04 amended to provide that the House Task Force on Alaska Gaming Policy submit its                                         
05 recommendations and findings by March 31, 2006, and House Resolution 8 is further                                       
06 amended to provide that the task force is terminated on April 30, 2006.
