01 "An Act relating to the definition of 'municipality' for purposes of human services                                     
02 community matching grants; and providing for an effective date."                                                        
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 29.60.650(2) is amended to read:                                                                  
05                 (2)  "municipality" means a (A) city whose population is over 20,000;                                   
06       (B) unified municipality whose population is over 100,000; [OR] (C) second class                                  
07       borough whose population is over 65,000; or (D) consortium of cities, unified                                 
08       municipalities, and  boroughs with a combined population that exceeds 35,000                                  
09       that are located in the same geographic region and have agreed to collectively                                
10       apply for and share a human services community matching grant; population for                                 
11       purposes of this paragraph shall be determined by the Department of Commerce,                                     
12       Community, and Economic Development.                                                                              
13    * Sec. 2.  This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
