01 Relating to safety devices and sharp instruments for the prevention of the spread of                                    
02 bloodborne pathogens in health care employees; and providing for an effective date.

04    * Section 1.  AS 18.60.890(3) is amended to read:                                                                  
05                 (3)  "employer"                                                                                         
06                      [(A)]  means an employer having an employee with                                                   
07            occupational exposure to human blood or other material potentially containing                                
08            bloodborne pathogens [; BUT                                                                                  
09                      (B)  DOES NOT INCLUDE AN EMPLOYER WHO HAS                                                          
10            FEWER THAN 25 FULL-TIME-EQUIVALENT EMPLOYEES];                                                               
11    * Sec. 2.  AS 18.60.880(h) is repealed.                                                                            
12    * Sec. 3.  This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
