01 "An Act authorizing a commercial fisherman to fish in each fishery for which the                                        
02 commercial fisherman holds a commercial fishing entry permit; relating to the power of                                  
03 the Alaska Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission and the Board of Fisheries to limit                                    
04 the number of fisheries in which a person may hold an entry permit and operate gear                                     
05 during a fishing season or a year; and providing for an effective date."                                                
06 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
07    * Section 1.  AS 16.43.150(a) is amended to read:                                                                  
08            (a)  Except as may be otherwise provided under AS 16.43.270(d), an entry                                     
09       permit authorizes the permittee to operate a unit of gear within a specified fishery.  A                      
10       permittee may operate gear within each fishery for which the permittee holds an                               
11       entry permit.  Neither the commission nor the Board of Fisheries may limit the                                
12       number of fisheries in which a person may hold an entry permit and operate gear                               
13       during a fishing season or a year.
