01 "An Act making it a class C felony to knowingly make a false statement relating to                                      
02 citizenship or residency on an application for voter registration or reregistration."                                   
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 15.56.040(a) is amended to read:                                                                  
05            (a)  A person commits the crime of voter misconduct in the first degree if the                               
06       person                                                                                                            
07                 (1)  votes or attempts to vote in the name of another person or in a                                    
08       name other than the person's own;                                                                                 
09                 (2)  votes or attempts to vote more than once at the same election with                                 
10       the intent that the person's vote be counted more than once;                                                      
11                 (3)  intentionally makes a false affidavit, swears falsely, or falsely                                  
12       affirms under an oath required by this title;                                                                     
13                 (4)  knowingly votes or solicits a person to vote after the polls are                                   
14       closed with the intent that the vote be counted; or                                                           
01                 (5)  knowingly makes a false statement relating to citizenship or                                   
02       residency while applying for voter registration or reregistration.                                            
03    * Sec. 2.  AS 15.56.050(a) is amended to read:                                                                     
04            (a)  A person commits the crime of voter misconduct in the second degree if                                  
05       the person                                                                                                        
06                 (1)  registers to vote without being entitled to register under                                         
07       AS 15.07.030;                                                                                                     
08                 (2)  knowingly makes a material false statement, other than a                                       
09       statement relating to citizenship or residency, while applying for voter registration                         
10       or reregistration; or                                                                                             
11                 (3)  votes or attempts to vote in an election after being disqualified                                  
12       under AS 15.05.030.
