01 "An Act relating to the operation of the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel and related                                     
02 toll facilities by the City of Whittier; and providing for an effective date."                                          
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 19.05.030 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                          
05            (b)  Notwithstanding AS 36.30 and any other provision of law, the Department                                 
06       of Transportation and Public Facilities shall enter into a contract with the City of                              
07       Whittier under which the city would operate the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel                                    
08       and any related toll facilities on behalf of the department.                                                      
09    * Sec. 2.  This Act takes effect July 1, 2001.
