01 "An Act relating to retention elections for judges of the court of appeals."                                            
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1.  AS 15.35.053 is amended to read:                                                                     
04            Sec. 15.35.053.  Approval or rejection of a judge of the court of appeals.                                 
05       Each judge of the court of appeals shall be subject to approval or rejection at the first                         
06       general election held more than three years after the judge's appointment.  If approved,                          
07       the judge is thereafter subject to approval or rejection in a like manner every fourth                        
08       [EIGHTH] year.
