01 "An Act eliminating a requirement that a social security number be provided by an                                       
02 applicant for certain hunting or sport fishing licenses, tags, and permits; eliminating a                               
03 requirement that an application for certain licenses and tags be subscribed and sworn to                                
04 before an officer authorized to administer oaths; and providing for an effective date."                                 
05 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
06    * Section 1.  AS 16.05.360(a) is amended to read:                                                                  
07            (a)  The commissioner or an authorized deputy shall issue each license and tag                               
08       to a qualified person under written application containing such reasonable information                            
09       as required by the commissioner.  The commissioner shall designate the license and                                
10       tag form or type.  The form or type must be sufficient to identify and locate the                                 
11       applicant and [,] establish the applicant's status as to residency and citizenship [, AND                     
12       SUPPLY THE PERSON'S SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER IF REQUIRED BY                                                         
13       THIS CHAPTER].  Each application shall be subscribed and sworn to by the applicant                                
14       [BEFORE AN OFFICER AUTHORIZED TO ADMINISTER OATHS IN THE                                                          
01       STATE].                                                                                                           
02    * Sec. 2.  AS 16.05.330(e), 16.05.346(d), and 16.05.360(b) are repealed.                                           
03    * Sec. 3.  This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
