01 "An Act relating to business licenses, business license endorsements, and business                                      
02 license and license endorsement fees, to a trade and business development fund, and to                                  
03 the international trade and business endowment; and providing for an effective date."                                   
04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
05    * Section 1.  AS 37.05.146(b)(4) is amended by adding a new subparagraph to read:                                  
06                      (AAA)  money in the trade and business development fund                                            
07            established under AS 44.33.117.                                                                              
08    * Sec. 2.  AS 43.70.030(a) is amended to read:                                                                     
09            (a)  The license fee for each business is $50 [$25] per year.                                            
10    * Sec. 3.  AS 43.70.080 is amended to read:                                                                        
11            Sec. 43.70.080.  Disposal of money.  The [ALL] money collected by the                                    
12       department under AS 43.70.075 [THIS CHAPTER] shall be deposited in the general                                
13       fund.                                                                                                             
14    * Sec. 4.  AS 43.70.080 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                             
01            (b)  The money collected by the department under AS 43.70.030 shall be                                       
02       deposited in the trade and business development fund established under AS 44.33.117.                            
03    * Sec. 5.  AS 44.33 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                    
04            Sec. 44.33.117.  Trade and business development fund.  (a) The trade and                                   
05       business development fund is established in the department.  The fund consists of the                             
06       money collected by the department under AS 43.70.030.  Subject to appropriation, the                              
07       money in the fund shall be used to pay the expenses of the department to support the                              
08       development of business and international trade in the state and for the administration                           
09       of AS 43.70.020 - 43.70.030 and 43.70.080 - 43.70.110.                                                            
10    * Sec. 6.  AS 37.17.010(b)(3) and  37.17.440 are repealed.                                                       
11    * Sec. 7.  The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to                         
12 read:                                                                                                                 
13       DISPOSITION OF MONEY IN FUND.  The balance of money remaining in the                                              
14 international trade and business endowment created under AS 37.17.440, repealed by sec. 6 of                            
15 this Act, and in the separate account established under AS 37.17.440(b), on the effective date                          
16 of this Act is deposited in the general fund.                                                                           
17    * Sec. 8.  This Act takes effect July 1, 2002.
