01 "An Act relating to funding for public school correspondence study programs; and                                        
02 providing for an effective date."                                                                                       
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 14.17.430 is amended to read:                                                                     
05            Sec. 14.17.430.  State funding for correspondence study.  Except as                                        
06       provided in AS 14.17.400(b), funding for                                                                          
07                 (1)  the state centralized correspondence study program [OR A                                       
08       DISTRICT CORRESPONDENCE PROGRAM, INCLUDING A DISTRICT THAT                                                        
09       OFFERS A STATEWIDE CORRESPONDENCE STUDY PROGRAM,] includes an                                                     
10       allocation from the public school account in an amount calculated by multiplying the                              
11       ADM of the correspondence program by 80 percent; and                                                          
12                 (2)  a district correspondence program, including a district that                                   
13       offers a statewide correspondence study program, includes an allocation from the                              
14       public school account in an amount calculated by multiplying the ADM of the                                   
01       correspondence program after being adjusted as required under AS 14.17.450                                    
02       and 14.17.460 by 80 percent.                                                                                  
03    * Sec. 2.  This Act takes effect July 1, 2001.
