00 SENATE BILL NO. 18 01 "An Act relating to money received by the court system as the result of fish and 02 game violations; and providing for an effective date." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 22.35 is amended by adding a new section to read: 05  Sec. 22.35.030. Money received for fish and game violations. (a) The court 06 system shall deposit fines, day fines, restitution, proceeds of the sale of forfeited 07 equipment that was used in the violation of a fish or game law, proceeds of the sale 08 of unlawfully taken fish or game that is forfeited to the state, and similar payments 09 received by the courts as the result of violations of fish and game laws under AS 16.05 10 - AS 16.35 into the fish and game law enforcement account unless the payment is 11 deposited into the fish and game fund under AS 16.05.110(a)(3). The court system 12 shall maintain an accounting of, and annually provide a report to the legislature 13 regarding, the amount of money received by the courts as the result of violations of 14 fish and game laws under AS 16.05 - AS 16.35. 01  (b) The fish and game law enforcement account is established in the general 02 fund. The legislature may appropriate money in the account for fish and game law 03 enforcement activities, including grants to nonprofit corporations established to 04 promote fish and game law enforcement, and for other public purposes. 05 * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect July 1, 1999.
