01 "An Act requiring a hunter to obtain proof of licensure from a guide before                                             
02 contracting or paying for big game hunting services.                                                                    
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
04    * Section 1.  AS 16.05 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                 
05  Sec. 16.05.409.  Hunter must obtain proof of guide's license.  (a)  A person                                        
06 may not enter into a contract with another person for big game hunting services or                                      
07 directly or indirectly compensate another person for providing big game hunting                                         
08 services unless the person has first obtained proof that the other person is licensed                                   
09 under AS 08.54 to provide big game hunting services.  In this section, "big game                                        
10 hunting services" means a guiding or outfitting service for which the provider of the                                   
11 service must obtain a license under AS 08.54.                                                                           
12  (b)  A person who violates this section is subject to penalties prescribed under                                      
13 AS 16.05.430.
