01 "An Act relating to transfer of a vehicle title by the owner; and providing for                                         
02 an effective date."                                                                                                     
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
04    * Section 1.  AS 28.10.271(d) is repealed and reenacted to read:                                                   
05  (d)  The department may not require a person to obtain an emissions inspection                                        
06 and maintenance certificate when ownership of a motor vehicle is transferred.                                           
07    * Sec. 2.  This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
