01 "An Act relating to the enhanced 911 emergency reporting systems."                                                      
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1.  AS 29.35.137(1) is amended to read:                                                                    
04   (1)  "911 service area" or "enhanced 911 service area" means the area                                                
05 within a municipality's jurisdiction that has been designated to receive basic or                                     
06 enhanced 911 service; the designation of an area to receive a basic or [AN] enhanced                                  
07 911 system under AS 29.35.131(a) does not designate the area as a "service area" for                                    
08 purposes of art. X, sec. 5, Constitution of the State of Alaska;                                                        
09    * Sec. 2.  AS 29.35.137(2) is amended to read:                                                                       
10   (2)  "enhanced 911 equipment" means the equipment dedicated to the                                                   
11 operation of, or use in, the establishment, operation, or maintenance of a basic or                                   
12 [AN] enhanced 911 system, including customer premises equipment, automatic number                                       
13 identification or automatic location identification controllers and display units, printers,                            
14 cathode ray tubes, recorders, software, and other essential communication equipment
