00 HOUSE BILL NO. 110                                                                                                      
01 "An Act relating to the confidentiality of certain information in motor vehicle                                         
02 records; and providing for an effective date."                                                                          
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 28.05.061 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                            
05  (d)  The address and telephone number of a person identified in a registration                                        
06 record, title, or document maintained by the department under AS 28.10 is not subject                                   
07 to inspection or disclosure as a public record and may not be released unless the                                       
08 person requesting the information has a legitimate interest in the information as defined                               
09 by the department by regulation.                                                                                        
10    * Sec. 2.  REGULATIONS.  The department may proceed to adopt regulations under                                       
11 AS 28.05.061(d), enacted by sec. 1 of this Act.  The regulations take effect under AS 44.62                             
12 (Administrative Procedure Act), but not before the effective date of sec. 1 of this Act.                                
13    * Sec. 3.  Section 2 of this Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
