01 "An Act relating to the jurisdiction of the ombudsman; and providing for an                                             
02 effective date."                                                                                                        
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 24.55.100(a) is amended to read:                                                                    
05  (a)  The ombudsman has jurisdiction to investigate the administrative acts of                                         
06 agencies, except that a complaint relating to an administrative act of an agency                                       
07 for which an administrative grievance or appeal procedure is available is not                                           
08 within the jurisdiction of the ombudsman until the administrative grievance or                                          
09 appeal procedure is completed.                                                                                         
10    * Sec. 2.  APPLICABILITY.  This Act applies to administrative acts of an agency that                                 
11 occur on or after the effective date of this Act.                                                                       
12    * Sec. 3.  This Act takes effect July 1, 1994.
