00 HOUSE BILL NO. 46 01 "An Act relating to frequent traveler credit for state-paid travel." 02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 03 * Section 1. AS 39.20 is amended by adding a new section to read: 04  Sec. 39.20.155. MILEAGE CREDIT. An employee may not accept from a 05 transportation provider mileage credit for travel with the provider if the state agency 06 pays the provider for the travel charge, advances the travel charge to the employee, or 07 reimburses the employee for the travel charge. 08 * Sec. 2. AS 45.45 is amended by adding a new section to read: 09  Sec. 45.45.920. MILEAGE CREDIT. (a) A person who provides 10 transportation for a charge and who also provides additional benefits to the person's 11 customers based on the mileage earned by the customer while using the person's 12 services shall, when a state agency pays the charge for the transportation, credit the 13 mileage account of the state agency instead of the mileage account of the customer. 14  (b) A person who violates (a) of this section is guilty of a class B misdemeanor. 01  (c) In this section, "state agency" means a department, institution, board, 02 commission, division, authority, public corporation, committee, or other administrative 03 unit of the executive, judicial, or legislative branch of state government, including the 04 University of Alaska, the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation, and the Alaska 05 Railroad Corporation.
