SENATOR PEARCE moved to calendar HB 61-OVERTIME WAGE EXEMPTION AIRLINE EMPLOYEES. There being no objection, the motion carried. SENATOR PEARCE requested that HB 101-CORPORATE PUBLIC UTILITY REINSTATEMENT be held in the Senate Rules Committee for another day. There being no objection, deliberation of HB 101 was postponed. Number 195 SENATOR PEARCE asked the amount of the final fiscal note on SB 4. BRETT HUBER, legislative aide to Senator Halford, sponsor of SB 4, explained CSSB 4(FIN) transfers the new office to the Department of Public Safety (DPS). The bill contains a delayed effective date so that DPS can begin the process of purchasing equipment and readying the offices for the new victims' advocate in FY00; the fiscal note amount for that year is $73,000. Operations will begin in FY01; the fiscal note amount for that, and future, years is $450,000. The funding will come from the permanent fund dividends of ineligible recipients who are incarcerated. SENATOR PEARCE moved to calendar all versions of SB 4-OFFICE OF VICTIMS' RIGHTS. There being no objection, the motion carried. There being no further business to come before the committee, CHAIRMAN KELLY adjourned the meeting at 11:48 a.m.
