WITNESS REGISTER Pam Varni, Executive Director Legislative Affairs Agency 130 Seward St., Suite 313 Juneau, AK 99801-2197 ACTION NARRATIVE TAPE 97-3, SIDE A CHAIRMAN KELLY called the Senate Rules Committee meeting to order at 10:50 a.m. He noted the presence of Senators Taylor, Leman and Kelly. CHAIRMAN KELLY brought SCR 7 (THIRTY-FIRST ANNUAL BOYS' STATE) before the committee. There being no discussion, he asked for the pleasure of the committee. SENATOR LEMAN moved and asked unanimous consent SCR 7 be approved for calendaring at the discretion of the Chairman. SENATOR TAYLOR objected and amended the motion to include SCR 8 (TWENTY-NINTH ANNUAL GIRLS' STATE); SJR 22 (ALASKA MILITARY BASES); and SB 115 (DISCLOSURE OF SALMON PRICES). Hearing no objection, CHAIRMAN KELLY stated the motion carried. CHAIRMAN KELLY stated the next order of business would be the consideration of amendments to two professional services contracts. The first amendment was to the Charles P. Meacham Professional Services Contract, which changes the termination date of the original contract to August 1, 1997. CHAIRMAN KELLY noted there was no change in the dollar amount of the contract. The second amendment was to the Douglas L. Blankenship Professional Services Contract, which amends the amount of the contract from $25,000 to $36,352.60. PAM VARNI , Executive Director, Legislative Affairs Agency explained the increase of $11,352.60 was to complete Mr. Blankenship's contract through February 28, 1997. SENATOR LEMAN moved the amendments to the Charles P. Meacham Professional Services Contract and the Douglas L. Blankenship Professional Services Contract by approved. Hearing no objection, CHAIRMAN KELLY stated the amendments were approved. There being no further business to come before the committee, CHAIRMAN KELLY adjourned the meeting at 10:53 a.m.
