HCR 11-PARENTS' DAY 1:36:12 PM REPRESENTATIVE SHARON CISSNA introduced HCR 11 by saying: this bill sets aside July 24, 2005 as Parent's Day. The reason for doing this is that this is a national effort and a national day to celebrate parents. The process for a number of years has been that there is a group of faith-based community advocates for parenting that have picked a parent of the year and a runner up after which there is a large picnic and lots of celebration. The committee would like to make it a much larger effort to get parents across the state recognized and highlight the wonderful place that parents play in our society. SENATOR WILKEN offered to co-sponsor the bill. SEANTOR WILKEN moved HCR 11 out of committee with attached recommendations and no fiscal notes. Hearing no objections, the motion carried. There being no further business to come before the committee, Chair Dyson adjourned the meeting at 1:39:42 PM.
