Representatives Gatto and Wolf arrived as the meeting was in progress. Representative Kerttula was excused. SUMMARY OF INFORMATION  TOM IRWIN, Commissioner, Department of Natural Resources (DNR), talked about DNR's mission and organization. He spoke about the investment of money and other important interests. Commissioner Irwin also discussed the integrity [of the department] and its important goals and objectives. The committee briefly discussed the following: spruce beetle expansion, fire ecology, budget cuts which result in park closures, the Division of Agriculture, the transfer of the Division of Habitat and Restoration, and the Fort Knox mine. ROBERT SPIEGEL spoke about a proposal to build a pond. ANNOUNCEMENTS  There were no announcements. COMMITTEE ACTION  The committee took no action.
