Representative Porter joined the meeting in progress. Representative Vezey was absent. HB 375 - CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN/FOSTER CARE Number 0027 CHAIRMAN BUNDE announced for the record, the following individuals were in attendance: Attorney General Bruce Botelho, Commissioner Margaret Pugh, Assistant Attorney General Susan Wibker, Deputy Attorney General Cynthia Cooper, Deputy Commissioner Russell Webb, and Director Lynda Zaugg. Number 0120 CHAIRMAN BUNDE called an at-ease at 3:10 p.m. CHAIRMAN BUNDE called the meeting back to order at 3:18 p.m. He announced the committee would be going into executive session for the purpose of discussing issues relating to child protection. Number 0161 REPRESENTATIVE JOE GREEN made a motion the committee go into executive session pertaining to matters to be discussed under Uniform Rule 22(b)(1-3) and asked unanimous consent. There was no objection. Number 0187 CHAIRMAN BUNDE stated, "Under Uniform Rule 22(b) a legislative body may call an executive session at which members of the general public may be excluded for the following reasons: (1) discussion of matters, the immediate knowledge of which would adversely affect the finances of a government unit; (2) discussion of subjects that tend to prejudice the reputation and character of a person; (3) discussion of a matter that may, by law, be required to be confidential." CHAIRMAN BUNDE commented this session will be covered by one or all of the above reasons. CHAIRMAN BUNDE dismissed the committee staff at 3:22 p.m. REPRESENTATIVE GREEN made a motion the committee come out of executive session and resume the regular meeting. ADJOURNMENT Number 0261 CHAIRMAN BUNDE adjourned the House Health, Education and Social Services Standing Committee at 5:10 p.m.
