SENATOR PEARCE asked the amount of the final fiscal note on SB 4. BRETT HUBER, legislative aide to Senator Halford, sponsor of SB 4, explained CSSB 4(FIN) transfers the new office to the Department of Public Safety (DPS). The bill contains a delayed effective date so that DPS can begin the process of purchasing equipment and readying the offices for the new victims' advocate in FY00; the fiscal note amount for that year is $73,000. Operations will begin in FY01; the fiscal note amount for that, and future, years is $450,000. The funding will come from the permanent fund dividends of ineligible recipients who are incarcerated. SENATOR PEARCE moved to calendar all versions of SB 4-OFFICE OF VICTIMS' RIGHTS. There being no objection, the motion carried.
