HJR 22-DIVERSE COMMUNITY/CONDEMN HATE CRIMES                                                                                  
                                                                                                                                
CO-CHAIR JAMES announced  that the only order  of business before                                                               
the committee  would be HOUSE  JOINT RESOLUTION NO.  22, Relating                                                               
to a  diverse community; condemning  a recent  racially motivated                                                               
attack;  and  requesting  the Municipality  of  Anchorage  police                                                               
department  to conduct  a conclusive  investigation  and to  take                                                               
rapid  action against  the perpetrators.   [Before  the committee                                                               
are SCS CSHJR 22(STA) am S and CSHJR 22(RLS).]                                                                                  
                                                                                                                                
CO-CHAIR JAMES  [also announced that  the committee  had] limited                                                               
powers of free conference.                                                                                                      
                                                                                                                                
CO-CHAIR  WARD  moved  that the  committee  adopt  the  following                                                               
amendment to SCS CSHJR 22(STA) am S:

There being  no objection,  the amendment  was adopted  [and thus                                                               
CCS HJR 22 was forwarded to both bodies for consideration].
