CHAIRMAN KELLY called the Senate Rules Committee meeting to order
at 11:35 a.m. Present were Senators Leman, Miller, Ellis and
Chairman Kelly.
SENATOR LEMAN moved to calendar, at the Chairman's discretion, SJR
31-SUBSISTENCE FOR URBAN AK NATIVES. There being no objection, the
motion carried.
CHAIRMAN KELLY announced that Senator Pearce had arrived.
CHAIRMAN KELLY announced that the Senate Finance Committtee was
preparing a technical amendment to HB 98 to be proposed on the
Senate floor.
SENATOR LEMAN moved to calendar, at the Chairman's discretion, HB
98-PUB.ASSISTANCE:PROGRAMS/GRANTS/CONTRACTS with individual
recommendations and accompanying fiscal notes. There being no
objection, the motion carried.
SENATOR LEMAN moved to calendar, at the Chairman's discretion, HB
105-LICENSING SPEECH PATHOLOGY/AUDIOLOGY, with individual
recommendations and accompanying fiscal notes. There being no
objection, the motion carried.
SENATOR LEMAN moved to calendar, at the Chairman's discretion, HB
159-PERS PEACE OFFR STATUS CORRECTION EMPLOYEE with individual
recommendations and accompanying fiscal notes. There being no
objection, the motion carried.
SENATOR LEMAN moved to calendar, at the Chairman's discretion, HB
191-CHARTER SCHOOLS.
SENATOR ELLIS objected and stated the Anchorage School District
requested that he offer an amendment to HB 191 at this time.
CHAIRMAN KELLY announced that HB 191 would be put aside until the
Senate Rules Committee meeting at 4:30 p.m.
SENATOR ELLIS said he appreciated the extra time.
SENATOR LEMAN moved to calendar, at the Chairman's discretion, HB
236-CREDITED PART-TIME SERVICE TRS with individual recommendations
and accompanying fiscal notes. There being no objection, the
motion carried.
SENATOR LEMAN moved to calendar, at the Chairman's discretion, HB
259-PUBLIC DEFENDER CHILDREN'S PROCEEDINGS with individual
recommendations and accompanying fiscal notes. There being no
objection, the motion carried.
SENATOR LEMAN moved to calendar, at the Chairman's discretion, HB
337-AMTS OWED ON UNEMPLOYMENT TAX:CLM V. PFD with individual

objection, the motion carried.
SENATOR LEMAN moved to calendar, pending arrival of the Senate
Finance Committee substitute, HB 378-FEES FOR WORKERS COMP AND

fiscal notes. There being no objection, the motion carried.
SENATOR LEMAN moved to calendar, at the Chairman's discretion, HB
418-PROGRAM RECEIPTS/ADMIN COST CHARGE with individual
recommendations and accompanying fiscal notes. There being no
objection, the motion carried.
CHAIRMAN KELLY announced that the Senate Rules Committee would meet
again today at 4:30 p.m. for purpose of calendaring four or five
bills. He then adjourned the meeting at 11:44 a.m.
