ACTION NARRATIVE
TAPE 00-02, SIDE A
CHAIRMAN KELLY called the Senate Rules Committee meeting to order
at 11:15 a.m. Present were Senators Pearce, Leman, Miller, Ellis,
and Kelly. CHAIRMAN KELLY announced SB 114 was before the
committee for calendaring.
SENATOR LEMAN moved to report all versions of SB 114-IMPERSONATE
POLICE/EMERGENCY VEHICLE, with individual recommendations and
accompanying fiscal notes, for calendaring at the Chairman's
discretion.
SENATOR ELLIS objected and stated that he wants to verify that
concerns about community patrols were addressed. Senator Ellis
said he would do the research, and he withdrew his objection.
CHAIRMAN KELLY stated the committee would wait to calendar SB 114
until Senator Ellis received his information. Without further
objection, the motion carried.
CHAIRMAN KELLY asked Senator Pearce about waiting to calendar SB
176.
SENATOR PEARCE replied she would like to wait until Monday,
February 21, 2000 to calendar SB 176. Senator Pearce also replied
she would like to bring SB 176 to the floor as a Labor & Commerce
Committee Substitute.
SENATOR PEARCE moved to calendar all versions of SB 176-SEX
DISCRIMINATION IN HEALTH CLUBS, with individual recommendations and
accompanying fiscal notes.
SENATOR ELLIS objected and asked if the Labor & Commerce version
takes care of Senator Leman's objection about private and public
sector differences. Senator Ellis removed his objection. Without
further objection, CHAIRMAN KELLY announced SB 176 would be
calendared the following week.
SENATOR LEMAN moved to report all versions of SB 186-COLLEGE
TUITION SAVINGS PLAN, with individual recommendations and
accompanying fiscal notes, for calendaring. Without objection, the
motion carried.
SENATOR LEMAN moved to report HB 222-LTD PARTNERSHIPS AND LTD.
LIAB. COMPANIES, with individual recommendations and accompanying
fiscal notes, for calendaring at the Chairman's discretion.
Without objection, the motion carried.
SENATOR PEARCE moved to calendar all versions of SB 229-REGULATORY
COMM. OF ALASKA/ AOGCC, with individual recommendations and
accompanying fiscal notes, at the Chairman's discretion. Without
objection, the motion carried.
SENATOR LEMAN moved to calendar all versions of SB 222-EMPLOYMENT
SECURITY ACT, with individual recommendations and accompanying
fiscal notes today. Without objection, the motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the committee,
CHAIRMAN KELLY adjourned the meeting at 11:20 a.m.
