The Senate Rules Committee was called to order by Chairman
Jacko at 9:08 p.m.
CHAIRMAN JACKO brought CSHB 279(L&C) (EXTEND ALASKA PUBLIC
UTILITIES COMMISSION) before the committee and opened the
public hearing on the legislation.
JOSH FINK, staff to the Senate Labor and Commerce Committee,
said that committee had introduced SB 87, which was
companion legislation to HB 279.
The legislation will extend the Alaska Public Utilities for
one year to June 1994. The rationale for the one-year
extension is to give the legislature an opportunity to
review the Legislative Budget and Audit report on the APUC
which was released in mid-March.
SENATOR HALFORD moved and asked unanimous consent that CSHB
279(L&C) be passed out of committee with individual
recommendations. Hearing no objection, it was so ordered.
SENATOR HALFORD moved and asked unanimous consent that CSHB
279(L&C) be approved for calendaring at the Chair's
discretion. Hearing no objection, it was so ordered.
SENATOR HALFORD moved and asked unanimous consent that SB 60
(APPROP:SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION GRANT FUND) be approved for
calendaring at the Chair's discretion. Hearing no
objection, it was so ordered.
SENATOR LITTLE moved and asked unanimous consent that SB 7
(DEBT REIMBURSEMENT/MAINTENANCE GRANTS) be approved for
calendaring at the Chair's discretion. Hearing no
objection, it was so ordered.
There being no further businesss to come before the
