CS FOR HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 21(RES)
Opposing the designation of any area in the state as a world
heritage site, biosphere reserve, or any other type of
international designation without the consent of the Alaska
State Legislature and affected local governments; and urging the
United States Congress to enact legislation to require
congressional approval before an area in the United States may
be considered for an international designation.

Encouraging Coeur Alaska, Inc., to pursue all legal options to
resolve the issues presented in Southeast Alaska Conservation
Council v. United States Army Corps of Engineers on behalf of
itself and consistent with the state's efforts to enforce its
rights as a state over its resources.

order were Senators Stevens, McGuire, Green and Huggins.

CHAIR HUGGINS announced HJR 21 to be up for consideration.

21, said this resolution passed last year and ended up in the
concurrence folder.

SENATOR STEVENS moved to pass CS for HJR 21 out of committee
with the attached fiscal note and individual recommendations.
There were no objections and CSHJR 21(RES) passed from
committee.
HJR 17-KENSINGTON MINE APPEAL

CHAIR HUGGINS announced HJR 17 to be up for consideration. [HJR
17 AM was before the committee.]
TREVOR FULTON, staff to Representative Kyle Johnson, was present
to answer questions.
SENATOR STEVENS moved to pass HJR 17 from committee with
individual recommendations. There were no objections and HJR 17
AM moved from committee.
