Thomas Wagoner. Senator Fred Dyson arrived soon thereafter.
^CONFIRMATION HEARING: Raymond Stoney - Big Game Commercial
Services Board
CHAIR THOMAS WAGONER announced the business before the committee
is the confirmation of Raymond Stoney to the Big Game Commercial
Services Board.
3:37:43 PM
SENATOR DYSON arrived.
RAYMOND STONEY, Nominee to the Big Game Commercial Services
Board, related his work history and involvement with the
Northwest Regional Advisory Council since 1993.
SENATOR BERT STEDMAN asked how long he has lived in Alaska.
MR. STONEY replied that he is 71 years old and has lived in
Kiana his entire life.
CHAIR WAGONER found no further questions and asked for a motion.
SENATOR RALPH SEEKINS moved to advance the name Raymond Stoney
to the full legislature. Advancing the confirmation does not
indicate an intention to vote either for or against the
appointee before the full body. No objection was stated and the
name was advanced from the Senate Resources Standing Committee.
CHAIR WAGONER advised the committee that he is considering
waiving HB 300, which tightens the requirements for the public
member of the Alaska Oil and Gas Association, and HJR 14 that
urges Congress to grant land to the University of Alaska. He
also mentioned that he would appoint a subcommittee to work on
SB 170 and break it down into three or more issues.
There being no further business to come before the committee,
Chair Wagoner adjourned the meeting at 3:43:22 PM
