SB 205-CONTROL OF NUISANCE WILD ANIMALS
CHAIRMAN JOHN TORGERSON called the Senate Resources Committee
meeting to order at 3:35 p.m. and announced SB 205 to be up for
consideration. All members were present. He said the committee
left this bill with Amendment 1 pending at a previous hearing.
Amendment 1 authorizes the Commissioner of the Department of
Transportation and Public Facilities (DOTPF) to designate
employees to do beaver control. He understands that ADF&G and
DOTPF have worked out an arrangement so the amendment is not
needed.
SENATOR WILKEN moved to remove Amendment 1 from consideration.
There were no objections and it was so ordered.
SENATOR WILKEN moved to pass SB 205 out of committee with the
attached fiscal note. There were no objections and it was so
ordered.
SB 326-WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PROGRAM
CHAIRMAN TORGERSON announced SB 326 to be up for consideration.
SENATOR WILKEN moved on page 2, line 11, to delete "First" before
"Regular Session" and insert "Second", and on line 12 delete
"fourth" and insert "third". There were no objections and it was
so ordered.
SENATOR WILKEN moved to pass CSSB 326(RES) from committee with
individual recommendations and attached fiscal note. There were
no objections and it was so ordered.
HB 307-OIL/GAS EXPLORATION INCENTIVE CREDIT
CHAIRMAN TORGERSON announced HB 307 to be up for consideration.
MS. CAROL CARROLL, Department of Natural Resources (DNR), said
DNR supports HB 307.
SENATOR ELTON said his notes reflect that when the bill was in
the House, the department was neutral and asked if they had
changed their position.
MS. CARROLL said she had misspoke at that time. The department is
neutral on the bill.
CHAIRMAN TORGERSON noted that there were a lot of shallow oil and
gas incentives on the books. Some are being used and some aren't.
SENATOR TAYLOR moved to pass HB 307 from committee with
individual recommendations. There were no objections and it was
so ordered.
CHAIRMAN TORGERSON adjourned the meeting at 3:45 p.m.
