CALL TO ORDER
Senator Bert Sharp, Co-chairman, convened the meeting at
approximately 6:48 p.m.
PRESENT
In addition to Co-chairman Sharp, Senators Phillips, Donley,
Torgerson, Parnell and Adams were present when the meeting
convened.
ALSO ATTENDING: Representative Con Bunde; Patti Swensen,
staff to Representative Bunde; aides to committee members
and other legislators.
SUMMARY INFORMATION
Co-chair Sharp convened the meeting and called HB 127.
CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 127(FIN)
"An Act relating to the citizen review board and panels
for permanency planning for certain children in state
custody; renaming the Citizens' Review Panel for Permanency
Planning as the Citizens' Foster Care Review Board;
extending the termination date of the Citizens' Foster Care
Review Board; relating to disclosures about certain minors;
and providing for an effective date."
Representative Con Bunde spoke to the bill. He explained it
was a watchdog bill for foster children. Senator Parnell
asked about the fiscal note. Patti Swensen, staff to
Representative Bunde explained the fiscal note. She said it
would take over Title 40 for Department of Health and Social
Services. The department felt they could get by on the
amount in the fiscal note.
Senator Adams moved CSHB 127(FIN) with individual
recommendations and accompanying fiscal notes. Without
objection it was reported out.
Co-chair Sharp advised the committee that the Senate
President requested a finance subcommittee be appointed for
during the interim. He appointed Senator Parnell, chair;
Senators Donley and Adams.
ADJOURNMENT
Co-chair Sharp recessed the meeting at 6:58 p.m.
