CHAIRMAN BILL WILLIAMS called the House Transportation Standing
Committee to order at 1:35 p.m. Members present at the call to
order were Representatives Williams, Masek, Cowdery, Sanders and
Elton. Members absent were Representatives Hudson and Kookesh.
HB 88 - ALASKA MARINE HIGHWAY AUTHORITY
Number 044
CHAIRMAN WILLIAMS announced the committee would hear HB 88, "An Act
relating to ferries and ferry terminals, establishing the Alaska
Marine Highway Authority, and relating to maintenance of state
marine vessels; and providing for an effective date." He stated
that he would like to move the bill and asked if there was anymore
discussion on it.

REPRESENTATIVE BEVERLY MASEK made a motion to move CSHB 88(TRA), 0-
LS0399\E, Utermohle, 3\19\97, with the attached fiscal notes and
individual recommendations.

CHAIRMAN WILLIAMS asked if there was an objection.

REPRESENTATIVE ELTON objected and stated that he would speak to his
objection except that he feels he already has.

CHAIRMAN WILLIAMS asked for a roll call vote. Representatives
Cowdery, Sanders, Masek and Williams voted in favor of the motion.
Representative Elton voted against the motion. The motion carried.

CHAIRMAN WILLIAMS announced that CSHB 88(TRA), 0-LS0399\E,
Utermohle, 3/19/97, moved out of the House Transportation Standing
Committee.
