The tenth meeting of the House State Affairs Committee was
called to order at 8:03 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 1993,
by Chairman Vezey and he noted a quorum was present.
HB 36: RETIREMENT INCENTIVE PROGRAM
HB 35: DEPOSITS TO THE BUDGET RESERVE FUND
CHAIRMAN AL VEZEY stated HB 36 would not be heard today. He
then asked if the committee wanted to take action on HB 35.

REPRESENTATIVE PETE KOTT MOVED to adopt the Committee
Substitute (CS) for HB 35. Roll call was taken and CSHB 35
was ADOPTED unanimously.

REPRESENTATIVE HARLEY OLBERG MOVED to pass CSHB 35 from
committee with individual recommendations. Roll call was
taken and CSHB 35 PASSED out of committee with all members
voting yes.
HJR 3: LIMITING TERMS OF LEGISLATORS

CHAIRMAN VEZEY brought before the committee CSHJR 3.
Discussion regarding the Committee Substitute followed.
Terms of the effective date starting 1994 and not being
retroactive were discussed.

REPRESENTATIVE GARY DAVIS MOVED to adopt CSHJR 3. Roll call
was taken and CSHJR 3 was ADOPTED unanimously. He then
moved to pass CSHJR 3 from committee with individual
recommendations. Roll call was taken and CSHJR 3 PASSED out
of committee with all members voting yes.
SSHJR 15: 100 DAY SESSION LIMIT

Clarification of the session starting date was discussed.

purpose was to reduce the cost of doing business in the
state.

before the committee substitute for HB 49 would be
completed.

committee for a week so the "democrat committee" could
review the bill.
