POSITION STATEMENT: During the hearing on CSSB 51(FIN),
explained the changes that would be made under a House committee
substitute, Version L, on behalf of Representative LeDoux, chair
of the House Rules Standing Committee.

CHAIR GABRIELLE LEDOUX called the House Rules Standing Committee
meeting back to order at 10:00 a.m. [The committee had recessed
at 9:41 a.m. on 5/13/17 to a call of the chair.]
Representatives Kito, Eastman, Reinbold, Claman, Stutes, and
LeDoux were present at the call back to order.
SB 51-EXTEND BOARD OF VETERINARY EXAMINERS

CHAIR LEDOUX announced that the only order of business would be
CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 51(FIN), "An Act extending the
termination date of the Board of Veterinary Examiners; and
providing for an effective date."

REPRESENTATIVE CLAMAN moved to adopt the proposed House
committee substitute (HCS) for CSSB 51(FIN), Version 30-
LS0465\L, Bruce, 5/13/17, as a working document. There being no
objection, Version L was before the committee.

COURTNEY ENRIGHT, Staff, Representative Gabrielle LeDoux, Alaska
State Legislature, explained that under Version L, a new section
would be added to reinstate the regulation of manicurists as it
stood prior to House Bill 131, which passed into law during the
Twenty-Ninth Alaska State Legislature.

REPRESENTATIVE CLAMAN moved to report HCS for CSSB 51(FIN),
Version 30-LS0465\L, Bruce, 5/13/17, out of committee with
individual recommendations and attached fiscal notes. There
being no objection, HCS CSSB 51(RLS) was reported from the House
Rules Standing Committee.
