ACTION NARRATIVE
CHAIR NORMAN ROKEBERG reconvened the previously recessed House
Rules Standing Committee meeting of April 21, 2005, at 5:05:09
PM. Present upon reconvening were Representatives Rokeberg,
Coghill, Harris, and Kohring.
HB 147-INSURANCE
CHAIR ROKEBERG announced that the first order of business would
be HOUSE BILL NO. 147, "An Act relating to the regulation of
insurance, insurance licensing, surplus lines, insurer deposits,
motor vehicle service contracts, guaranteed automobile
protection products, health discount plans, third-party
administrators, self-funded multiple employer welfare
arrangements, and self-funded governmental plans; and providing
for an effective date."
CHAIR ROKEBERG announced that the House Rules Standing Committee
will have no hearing on HB 147, and it will be calendared at the
discretion of the chair.
HB 98-NONUNION PUBLIC EMPLOYEE SALARY & BENEFIT
CHAIR ROKEBERG announced that the next order of business would
be HOUSE BILL NO. 98, "An Act relating to the compensation of
certain public officials, officers, and employees not covered by
collective bargaining agreements; and providing for an effective
date."
CHAIR ROKEBERG announced that HB 98 will be held over.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the committee, the
reconvened House Rules Standing Committee meeting was adjourned
at 5:05 p.m.
CHAIR NORMAN ROKEBERG then called the scheduled House Rules
Standing Committee meeting to order at 5:05:51 PM.
Representatives Rokeberg, Coghill, Harris, and Kohring were
present at the call to order. Representatives McGuire,
Berkowitz, and Kerttula arrived as the meeting was in progress.
SB 51-PUBLIC ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS
CHAIR ROKEBERG announced that the only order of business would
be CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 51(FIN), "An Act relating to contracts
for the provision of state public assistance to certain
recipients in the state; providing for regional public
assistance plans and programs in the state; relating to grants
for Alaska Native family assistance programs; relating to
assignment of child support by Alaska Native family assistance
recipients; relating to paternity determinations and genetic
testing involving recipients of assistance under Alaska Native
family assistance programs; and providing for an effective
date."
CHAIR ROKEBERG announced that SB 51 would be postponed until
Wednesday, April 27, 2005.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the committee, the House
Rules Standing Committee meeting was adjourned at 5:06:35 PM.
