for the Department of Corrections, the Department of Fish and

Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the Department of
Military and Veterans Affairs, the Department of Natural
Resources, the Department of Public Safety, the Department of
Transportation and Public Facilities, the University of Alaska,
Fund Capitalization, Debt Service, the Language Section and
Fiscal Notes. The bills were reported from Committee.

Representative Chenault offered a motion to rescind the
Committee's earlier action in closing Item 3.
There was no objection and the action was RESCINDED.

Department of Natural Resources
Representative Chenault offered a motion to adopt the Senate
version of Item 7, and the Senate version of State Land Funds
and Investment Loss Trust Funds, and the Senate version less
$433,700 of general funds for the Department of Natural
Resources.
There was no objection and the amounts indicated were ADOPTED.

Department of Natural Resources.

Department of Public Safety
Representative Chenault offered a motion to adopt the Senate
version of Items 6 through 8 and 10 through 12, and the House of
Representatives version of Item 9.
Senator Hoffman objected to adoption of Items 6 and 10.
Chair Wilken explained that the motion sheet does not show
language pertinent to Item 6 that would allow the Department to
carry forward the $550,000 FY 06 lapse funds for the Village
Public Safety Officers (VPSO) program. With regard to Item 10,
the Department is anticipating $5 million in federal funding to
be utilized for the Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual
Assault program. The funding from these sources should
adequately fund the two programs.
Senator Hoffman removed his objection.
Representative Joule, referring to Item 7 relating to the VPSO
program, asked how it would be funded if the $550,000 FY 06
lapsed funds were appropriated to Item 6.
Co-Chair Wilken noted that Items 6 and 7 are interrelated and
that the lapse funding would apply to both.
There was no objection and the amounts indicated were ADOPTED.

Department of Public Safety.
