the increasing needs of her family as a
resident and stressed the need for

the support provided to her family and
urged further funding for care

Betty Streeper the need for increased staffing and
discussed the danger to fragile
residents in the absence of adequate
nurses.

the Alaska Pioneer Homes. A resident
for a number of years, she emphasized
the need for continuing care. She noted
the increased needs of the residents,
and the decreased staffing. She spoke
to the need for specialized care,
especially for conditions such as
dementia.
2:31:19 PM Vanessa Olson, Testified in support of full funding for
Social Worker the Alaska Pioneer Homes. She noted
that the majority of admissions to the
homes are residents in their 80's; there
exists a lack of room in the more
supervised areas. Ms. Olson emphasized
the lack of staffing positions and urged
funding to increase salaries and
positions.
