Senator Bishop, Cochair, moved and asked unanimous consent for the adoption of the Finance Committee Substitute offered on page 2324. Senator Begich objected, then withdrew his objection. There being no further objection, CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 45(FIN) "An Act raising the minimum age to purchase, sell, exchange, or possess tobacco, a product containing nicotine, or an electronic smoking product; relating to selling a tobacco product; relating to possession of tobacco, electronic smoking products, or products containing nicotine by a person under 21 years of age; relating to the definition of 'nicotine'; relating to transporting tobacco, a product containing nicotine, or an electronic smoking product; relating to the taxation of electronic smoking products; relating to electronic smoking products; relating to the marketing of electronic smoking products; relating to tobacco products; and providing for an effective date" was adopted. Senator Holland offered Amendment No. 1 : Page 7, line 6: Delete "45" Insert "25" Senator Holland moved for the adoption of Amendment No. 1. Objection was heard. YEAS: 6 NAYS: 12 EXCUSED: 2 ABSENT: 0 Yeas: Costello, Holland, Hughes, Revak, Shower, Wilson Nays: Begich, Bishop, Gray-Jackson, Hoffman, Kawasaki, Kiehl, Micciche, Olson, Reinbold, Stedman, Stevens, von Imhof Excused: Myers, Wielechowski and so, Amendment No. 1 failed. President Micciche stated CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 45(FIN) will advance to third reading on the April 20 calendar.
