Let it burn away the fog so that each of us sees each other clearly, so that we can move beyond labels, beyond accents, gender, sexual orientation, or skin color. Let the warmth and brightness of the sun melt our selfishness, so that we can share the joy and sorrow of our neighbors. And let the light of the sun be so strong that we will see all people as our neighbors. Let the earth, nourished by rain, bring forth flowers to surround us with your beauty, and let the mountains teach our hearts to reach upward to heaven. Then, Dear God, grant us comfort, give us peace, and allow us strength to enable us to stand up, fight for, and be a voice for equality. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Tilton. MESSAGES FROM THE GOVERNOR The following Governor's proclamations dated May 13 were read: "Under the authority of Article II, Section 9, and Article III, Section 17, Constitution of the State of Alaska, and in the public interest, I call the Thirty-Second Legislature of the State of Alaska into its first special session at Juneau, Alaska, in the legislative chambers, on May 20, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to consider the following subjects: • HB 69, or similar bill making appropriations for the operating and loan program expenses of state government and for certain programs; capitalizing funds; amending appropriations; making capital appropriations, supplemental appropriations, and reappropriations; making appropriations under Article IX, Section 17(c), Constitution of the State of Alaska, from the Constitutional Budget Reserve fund;
